This week I get to speak with Kahlana Barfield-Brown about her journey from an intern living in NYC making $15 a day to becoming the fashion and beauty editor at large for Instyle Magazine. She shares so many stories about the grind and challenges she had to overcome to make it to where she is now.

- If you are going to do something do it at 150% or don’t do it at all [21:32]
- If you are serious about being here take your job seriously and I promise you it will work out. It always works out [26:26]
- The key with social media is you have to be yourself you can't try to be someone else [36:25]
- I worked to get here. Everything that I did I wanted to do it so well and I never want to feel like I was the token black girl. [54:14]
